What is the QRLF’s Goal?
Our primary goal is to fill the funding gap left by state and local resources. The San Ramon Valley School District receives significantly less funding per student compared to state and national averages. This shortfall limits access to resources essential for a comprehensive education. By contributing to QRLF, you ensure that your child benefits from enhanced educational opportunities beyond what regular state funding provides.
Our annual goal for the 2024-2025 school year is $180,000.
As of 11/30/2024, we have raised $99,5000 55% of our goal .
Please consider participating on our fundraising events or through monetary donations online.
How are the QRLF and the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation (SRVEF) different?
San Ramon Valley Unified School District received the lowest funding per student of all unified school districts. QRLF is affiliated to the larger SRVEF, it can be helpful to think of SRVEF as the district-wide fund and QRLF as the school specific fund. Donations to the individual school is the most direct way to fund Quail Run needs as determined by the parents, teachers, principal and even students.
For more information about the SRVEF, please visit their site.
What are the sources of school funding?
Despite popular belief, property taxes provide approximately 22% of the basic funding needed for our schools. Actually, California income taxes are the biggest piece of the pie. However, this funding is limited to state policies, reallocations and limitations. Your donations to the Quail Run Learning Fund (i.e. the expected Other Local 10% below) are used to provide wages to our librarian, art instructor, part-time mental health counselor, field trips and some classroom supplies.
Our San Ramon Unified School District is currently evaluating ways to balance the budget for the upcoming years due to COVID funding running out and declines in enrollment. Therefore, every dollar we raise for our school helps.
Where Do the QRLF Donations Go?
Every donation goes directly to the Quail Run classrooms to support students through:
• Art programs
• Reading and math instructional assistants
• Technology, including laptops and iPads
• Vocal music instruction
• Full-time librarian
• Soul Shoppe
• Partial funding of Field Trips
• Digital Subscriptions for school resources
• Professional Development for Faculty and Staff
